THE JERK RESTAURANT - 100% Jamaican on St Maarten...

Now, not everyone likes ordinary foods like myself. However, whenever I'm hungry for a 'sting of the tongue' its off to one of my frequent spots for me. This is 100% Jamaican spicy food with gusto.

We locals just love it!

The place is mainly a Take Away restaurant, but don't let that put you off. Us locals travel from across the island to eat at The Jerk Grill, it's food is that good. And, if you don't want to 'Take Away' then eat your meal right there, right on the premises.

The Jerk Grill's highly seasoned foods have that extra bit of Jamaican character and you don't have to go off to Jamaican to be able to experience the best of Jamaican cuisine right here on St Maarten.

So, if spicy is your culinary "thing" then JERK is what you're looking for.  Jerk means "spicy".

The Jerk Restaurant - 100% Jamaican Food...

So, get this right the first time around so that you can understand the local conversation. When a local refers to the local food they mean anything Caribbean. St Maarten has a diverse Caribbean culture... its food, the people, the music... and a relaxed attitude towards life etc. So, on St Maarten you'll get to experience the best of Caribbean cuisine (like 'The Jerk Grill' for Jamaican food) whenever you visit our island.

Now, although many Caribbean dishes are made from similar ingredients, it's important to note that the local differences are subtle, but are there to be detected. So, when you come to St Maarten make a point of having lunch at The Jerk Grill. You can enjoy Ox's Tail, salt fish, ground provisions (roots), and many other local dishes can also be found here. You can also get fresh juices like carrot, coconut punch, mauby and many others.

Not sure what to order, or how hot? No problem, just ask Aalphonso and the rest of the staff. They'll look after you!

LOCATION: DUTCH SIDE - Cul de Sac Village on the Bush road in the general vacinity of the Texaco traffic circle, Grand Marchet, Kentucky fried Chicken and "Cost You Less".
