Get a delicious meal sitting right at the waterfront....

Chesterfields restaurant St Maarten is classed as being the gourmet capital of the Caribbean. At least, this is what is said on the French side of the island in reference to the the densely packed Grand Case strip of restaurants.

The Island in general is loaded with a variety of eateries offering from tapas menus all the way to high end three course fancy meals. Most people tend to think that the brunt of meals are centered around touristy junk.

Contrary to popular belief there are many restaurants such as Chesterfields that offer a variety of succulent meats and fish prepared in a local style.

Thet're located at the extreme head of town. It has been open for almost thirty years The main seating area is located right on the great bay water front with a nice view of the outskirts of Philipsburg and Fort William Hill.

Cruise ship guest seem to imprint this one in their memory as it is the first restaurant they encounter once they leave the cruise facility and the last on their way back.

It is a fantastic place for a cool beverage, meeting or for a deserving meal. The ambiance beckons the entire family to be seated the minute you walk into its cozy presence. The deck is open air and decorated with drift wood and other rustic and marine materials.

This Great Bay waterfront nook is an excellent place for a cocktail, a beer, or a meal on the open-air deck. It is frequented by patrons of all walks of life.

Chesterfields restaurant has become popular for the preparation of their fresh seafood. Its master Chefs are excellent with their culinary skills always put a twist and spice up an otherwise ordinary meal.

These small but effective ingredients when added to the dish is the element that makes Chesterfields stand out. Chesterfields also specializes in its roast duckling that's topped off with a splash of its famous banana and pineapple topping sauce. The restaurant also gets good ratings for its Flan and cheesecake.

Over the three decades that Chesterfields restaurant has been in Philipsburg, they have made some structural changes but the one thing that stayed intact is the great food and service.

It is still the place that gets bombarded every year by sailors visiting in march the for heineken regatta. Its Friendly staff stays true to the industry and in my opinion proves itself as a great eating place that has stood the test of time.
